Remnants 2D

As Far Back as Memory Reaches

The work here is about what remains over time. Much of it references flesh, bone, blood, decay, machines of destruction, as well as ancient artifacts that remind one of letters and codes, tools, and power objects. There is a sense of menace to some of the constructions, of aggression and evil intent. There are images suggesting vulnerability, protection and lack of protection, and of the spirit, translucent, that rises in death. On the Cape: air, light, water, sky, eternity. What comes and goes on the beach, in the water, in life. Life and death on the beach. The beached whale. Walking on sand, burying feet, body in sand. The mysterious feeling around the marsh. The quiet. The stars at night. Does anything last?
