Voyages

This body of work is about flow, disintegration, history, change, and depth. The imagery derives from beach walks and my observation of what happens at the ocean water's edge. Waves build up and crash, flowing and retreating, depositing and taking away remnants of marine life, shells, seaweed, sand, rocks....  In my paintings the forms expand and contract, take shape and disintegrate, dispersed into light or whirling energies. There is a sense of things appearing, just as they do at the water's edge, and then disappearing into nothingness, sometimes calm, sometimes explosive.
